Study Ideas

Hi there,

A mistake a lot of students make is to think of “study” in really boring, square ways. So here are a few more creative ways to study and revise lesson content:

Make a cross word using key terms and their definitions using a site such as www.eclipsecrossword.com which has a free crossword maker you can download.

Make an audio recoding of you reading some summary notes, key points of quotes you wish to remember, up load it to your phone or mp3 player and listen to it while you walk to school, lay in your room, or before falling asleep.

On large bright coloured pieces of paper, write in large letters formula, quotes or points you wish to remember. Pin or stick these up in your room, or in the toilet, and EVERY time you go in there, take a few seconds to read every sign!

Visit the Board of Studies website, and check out the “test yourself” section which allows you to complete multiple choice questions for school certificate and Higher school certificate courses, follow this link: http://www4.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/

good luck and please feel free to suggest other method you have found successful :) sharing is caring!!!

Earth Haiku

These are some of the Haiku written in Year 7 Science class on the structure of the Earth:

Earth is very hard
The middle is very hot
It will burn your hat
– Zach

I was just standing
There as hot like the rocks on
Earth then walked to Earth
– Kerrigan

Cold warm and rainy
Earth gives us food and our lives
Thank goodness for Earth
– Danielle

Earth is wonderful
It is like a soccer ball
A whole lot of fun
– Connor
